Lubricant Additive Operations Supervisor

Responsibilities
Actively promote and lead plant safety culture and EHS efforts.
Supervise reports, complete employee evaluations, and plan development and training. Resolve employee problems and discipline issues independently or with HR consultation.
Consult daily with operations personnel to discuss and define operational issues and determine priorities regarding resources.
Coordinate with tech service and logistics personnel on short-term and long-term activities.
Interface with Business Group, R&D, Manufacturing, Process Technology, and Client Logistics on customer service, quality, new products/projects, and distribution issues.
Develop and monitor goals and objectives for the area.
Manage annual budgets for the area and monitor costs and variances.
Identify and work towards implementing cost improvement ideas.
Provide coverage for the Operations Manager and assume Unit Supervisor responsibilities when needed.
Lead EHS initiatives, including incident investigations, root cause analysis, housekeeping, and safety meetings.
Drive quality initiatives, reduce process variation, and improve process capabilities; monitor process deviations and daily quality.
Assist in resolving relevant Labor Relations issues with Union representatives.
Develop and implement plans for new product introductions, focusing on First Time Right.
Collaborate with Logistics and Maintenance on planning unit turnarounds.
Review capital projects for safety and operability; request minor capital expenditures.
Coordinate the Management of Change process.
Recruit and mentor plant tech service engineers and logistics personnel.
Qualifications
BS in Chemical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
7-10 years relevant experience in the chemical industry.
10+ years of relevant work experience.
Strong leadership, influencing, negotiation, and diplomacy skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Industry-specific skills, software knowledge, and certifications.
Ability to manage teams effectively.
