Your adventure awaits! Tumac Covers, a division of Patrick Industries, is looking to add a Purchasing Manager to their team in Elkhart, IN. Established in 1958, Tumac Covers has stood as the premier producer of top-tier boat covers, serving boating manufacturers, dealers and enthusiasts alike. As the Purchasing Manager at Tumac Covers you will lead procurement operations to ensure a steady, cost-effective supply of materials that support production goals. In this role you will manage supplier relationships, oversee inventory strategies, and drive continuous improvement in sourcing, cost control and compliance. Responsibilities And Duties Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production goals and cost-efficiency targets Source and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, components, and equipment Oversee physical inventory processes, including cycle counting, reconciliation, and reporting, to ensure inventory accuracy and support production planning Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to manage shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely delivery of materials and proper documentation of inbound and outbound goods Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to ensure timely material availability Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost metrics Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory Forecast material requirements and adjust procurement plans accordingly Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations Collaborate with engineering and production teams to align purchasing with technical specifications Manage and mentor purchasing staff, including buyers and procurement specialists Analyze market trends to anticipate material cost fluctuations Oversee contract development and manage vendor agreements Resolve supply chain issues and delivery delays proactively Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality Coordinate with finance to manage budgets and track procurement KPIs Qualifications And Skills Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles including: physical inventory, shipping/receiving, sourcing, etc. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality standards in manufacturing Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPP) are a plus Align with Patrick Industries “BETTER Together” mentality by pursuing Balance, Excellence, Trust, Teamwork, Empowerment, and Respect within the organization At Patrick Industries, BETTER Together is our commitment to being our best while striving to bring out the best in one another as we join forces Individually, as Teams, with our Business Units, with our Customers, our Communities and within our entire Patrick family.
