We have the opportunity for an experienced Sr. Budget & Reporting Analyst to join the firm’s Corporate Accounting and Finance team. This position is heavily involved in the annual budget process and will have designated daily/monthly responsibilities of expense variance analysis, expense forecasting, compilation & review of monthly financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations and other general accounting functions. Position Summary
We have the opportunity for an experienced Sr. Budget & Reporting Analyst to join the firm’s Corporate Accounting and Finance team. This position is heavily involved in the annual budget process and will have designated daily/monthly responsibilities of expense variance analysis, expense forecasting, compilation & review of monthly financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations and other general accounting functions.
Essential Functions
Strong knowledge of data-centric software and applications like Excel. Assist in planning, development, presentation, and implementation of the annual budget. Collaborate with local office administrators and administrative staff to develop the annual budget. Data mine and research large datasets for monthly budget vs actual expense variances and quickly identify meaningful patterns for management reporting. Track and analyze current and historical data to forecast expenses to assist management with decision making. Collaborate with various offices/departments to ensure that analytical efforts align with the Firm’s business objectives/strategies. Assist with the compilation and review of monthly financial reports for assigned offices. Prepare and post monthly journal entries for expense allocations and reclasses. Ensure accuracy of financial data provided and used for budgetary analysis and reporting. Consistently evaluate current budget processes and make recommendations for alternative budget strategies. Develop, organize, and maintain documentation for processes. Prepare ad hoc reports for management, as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting). 8+ years accounting and financial systems experience. Strong budgeting and accounting systems experience. Knowledge of T-Sql and Document Management System a plus. Ability to work overtime as needed Analytical - able to mine and collect data. Problem solving skills – gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Communication – listens and gets clarification. Responds to inquiries quickly with professionalism and tact. Wires clearly and informatively. Able to read and interpret information accurately and concisely. Maintains high level of confidentiality. Organization Skills – keeps work area neat and clear of safety hazards. Files are maintained neatly and are easily retrieved. Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and handle numerous projects/tasks. Detail oriented. Teamwork – willing and eager to help others and share knowledge and skills. Attendance/Punctuality – is consistently at work and on time. Dependability – follows instructions, responds to management direction. Willing to commit additional hours when necessary to complete Firm objectives. Initiative – takes independent actions and reasonable risks. Asks for and offers help when needed. Knowledge – basic and advanced accounting knowledge. Leadership – strong leadership skills, able to motivate others. Previous experience in a professional services organization a plus.
