The Assistant Project Manager manages capital project delivery within a business unit in the MTA Construction Development (C&D) Delivery Department. Responsibilities include ensuring project safety, efficiency, schedule, budget, and compliance with policies and standards. The role involves monitoring project status, identifying risks, assisting with management and oversight, and coordinating activities with staff, contractors, and stakeholders. The position also supports data-driven decision-making by developing dashboards, data models, and applications, contributing to data management and business intelligence efforts. Responsibilities

Manage and mentor staff to deliver complex capital projects. Coordinate project activities through to close-out. Monitor performance against baselines and pursue improvements. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues. Recommend solutions to senior management. Coordinate activities with project teams, staff, contractors, and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and policies. Manage project plans, quality, and work documentation. Track progress against scope, schedule, and budget; ensure proper expenditure charges. Control and retain project documentation. Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI and other tools. Design and optimize data models for reporting and decision-making. Support data quality, governance, and security. Gather requirements, provide training, and support end users. Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or Project Management. Minimum of 3 years of related experience. Experience with data management, ETL, and APIs preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license desirable. PMP and CCM certifications preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc. Other Information
