The Project Manager oversees capital project delivery within the Long Island Railroad Business Unit of MTA Construction and Development. Responsibilities include ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual and policy standards. The role involves monitoring project progress, mitigating risks, resolving issues, and coordinating with various stakeholders and teams. Responsibilities
Manage and mentor staff to deliver complex capital projects. Coordinate project activities through to completion. Monitor performance against baselines; improve project performance. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues. Provide solutions and recommendations to senior management. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with standards, policies, and safety regulations. Manage project documentation, schedules, and budgets. Collaborate on project scope, design, procurement, and evaluation. Review and approve invoices and project charges. Maintain comprehensive project records and reports. Oversee staff hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Promote a respectful and inclusive work environment. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience. Licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) is desirable. PMP and CCM certifications preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
