Senior Claims Specialist - Primary Casualty

This role requires a hybrid work schedule, working three days per week in the office. The position can be based in any of the following AXIS office locations: NYC; Red Bank, NJ; or Alpharetta, GA.
Job Responsibilities
Review claims to determine the nature of loss, coverage, and scope.
Utilize knowledge of legal frameworks and claims practices relevant to jurisdiction, especially Construction and New York Labor Law.
Investigate claims and develop resolution strategies, including documentation of contracts, logs, records, and reports.
Document the claim process thoroughly in a best-practices environment.
Evaluate, reserve, and disposition claims timely.
Review contracts for risk transfer, coverage, and tender assessments.
Investigate potentially fraudulent claims and take appropriate actions.
Make settlement and disposition recommendations.
Identify opportunities for contribution and subrogation.
Prepare reports for senior management and attend mediations or settlement conferences as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
7-10 years of claims handling experience in commercial casualty insurance, with supervisory perspective preferred.
Experience with New York Labor Law, Product Liability, and Complex Litigation claims.
Proficiency in analyzing coverage issues and drafting correspondence.
Compensation and Benefits The salary range is approximately USD $105K-125K in GA, $125K-160K in NY, and $120K-150K in NJ, depending on experience and location. Benefits include medical plans, wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and more.
