Job Description
The Sales Representative promotes and sells the organization’s products and services within Northern California, targeting new and existing customer accounts to achieve sales targets. The role involves developing revenue through lead generation, prospecting, and building ongoing relationships with customers. The representative is responsible for increasing sales, expanding the customer base, and maintaining a record of sales achievement.
Responsibilities:
Identify and pursue sales leads; visit existing and potential customers, especially those of strategic importance.
Assess customer needs and recommend suitable products and services.
Respond to complex customer inquiries, negotiate prices and delivery schedules within authority limits, and close sales to meet revenue goals.
Research and contact prospective customers, building positive relationships to generate repeat business.
Share customer feedback, sales leads, and competitor activity insights with internal teams to adapt strategies.
Develop and monitor long-term sales plans for key accounts, adjusting activities to meet targets.
Create and prioritize weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plans to ensure targets are achieved.
Mentor and coach less experienced sales staff to help them meet their sales goals.
Propose additional solutions and services to clients, emphasizing product advantages using internal tools and resources.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver on sales commitments promptly.
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process.
Accurately forecast sales and maintain records in Salesforce.com.
Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree related to the work function and at least 3 years of relevant sales experience.
Excellent presentation skills, capable of engaging C-Level and senior management executives.
Strong analytical skills to identify key variables and develop solutions.
Organizational skills to prioritize resources and adapt to new information for optimal solutions.
Effective communication skills across all organizational levels for negotiation and conveying information.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and product knowledge.
Understanding of the sales cycle and proficiency in making cold calls daily.
Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Additional Information
Initially, the role offers a non-recoverable draw between $50,000 and $150,000 annually, transitioning to a 100% commission-based structure with unlimited earning potential. Compensation varies based on education, skills, experience, and performance.
