AbbVie Product Development Science & Technology is seeking a Senior Scientist (process chemist) to conduct late-stage chemical process development, supporting projects from late clinical development through commercialization and throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated scientist, with a proven track record in organic synthesis, working in a multi-functional team environment. The candidate will develop organic chemistry processes and execute on scale to provide practical access to potential therapies, including small molecules and/or antibody drug conjugates (ADCs). The role involves collaboration with organic chemists, analytical chemists, engineers, and solid-state scientists. Responsibilities

Demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in development and commercialization activities. Maintain autonomous and productive laboratory performance with minimal supervision. Formulate conclusions and design follow-up experiments based on multidisciplinary data. Identify impactful investigation areas for pipeline programs. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to advance pipeline and commercial programs. Author publications, presentations, regulatory documents, and patents. Exhibit proficiency across relevant technologies. Maintain productivity in lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing support spaces. Adhere to standards regarding safety, conduct, and GxP compliance. Serve as a subject matter expert within project teams. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with typically 10 years of experience; Master's Degree with 8 years; PhD with no experience necessary. Expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry, compound purification, and spectral analysis. Strong communication skills. Approximately 10% travel expected. Key Leadership Competencies
