Translate high-level business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.

Business Process Mapping & Improvement

Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities for automation or optimization within Salesforce.

Create process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria in tools like Jira, Confluence, or Aha.

Ensure Salesforce features (standard or custom) align with best practices and business objectives.

Salesforce Solution Design Support

Collaborate with Salesforce Architects, Admins, and Developers to design scalable solutions.

Recommend whether to use standard Salesforce functionality or custom development.

Validate that proposed solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements.

Data & Integration Management

Define data migration needs (source, mapping, cleansing, validation).

Support integration requirements between Salesforce and other business systems (ERP, marketing automation, service platforms).

Help maintain data integrity and governance rules.

User Story Creation & Backlog Management

Write clear and testable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.

Maintain the product backlog and prioritize based on business value.

Support Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning).

Testing & Quality Assurance

Develop test cases and assist in UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

Ensure delivered features meet business requirements before deployment.

Log, track, and help resolve defects.

Change Management & Training

Support change management by creating training materials and documentation.

Conduct user training sessions and onboarding for new Salesforce functionality.

Gather feedback after go-live to address adoption challenges.

Continuous Improvement

Monitor Salesforce usage and adoption metrics to identify gaps.

Recommend enhancements or new features to improve ROI.

Stay up-to-date with Salesforce releases and suggest relevant updates.

Key Skills for a Salesforce BA

Salesforce platform knowledge — Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, etc.

Strong understanding of CRM concepts and customer lifecycle.

ServcieNow

Proficiency in business process modeling .

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and tools like Jira, Azure

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
