- Assesses patients, clients and families and recognizes normal parameters, deviations and abnormalities in physical, emotional, developmental and behavioral status as it relates to cardio-pulmonary needs using a family centered approach to care, plans and prioritizes care to meet patient, client and family needs, Collects clinical data, utilizes decision trees and guidelines. Matches formal knowledge with clinical events to make appropriate decisions during sleep study testing. Documentation

- Demonstrates compliance with established practices in documentation. Documents routine observations, changes in procedure and significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnography results. Provides thorough documentation during data collection based on direct observation of the patient through real time comments and narrative notes. Follows procedures to establish and document baseline values (such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, end tidal carbon dioxide values, respiratory and heart rates, etc.). Clinical Judgment

- Demonstrates competence in the implementation of the technical skills required for the care of the patients, clients and families according to CCHMC policies, procedures and standards. Demonstrate compliance with established practices in documentation of care Identifies goals and outcomes for health with the patient, client and family. Directs interventions towards the attainment of goals and outcomes as it relates to cardio pulmonary health. Evaluates effectiveness of care. Demonstrates critical thinking by making appropriate care decisions and relating that information to the healthcare team. Implement the standards of the patient care and access. Facilitates patient and family learning by providing structured education based upon the Plan of Care and patient and family needs. Systems Thinking

- Is able to recognize systems and processes within the healthcare environment that affect the patient experience; anticipates needs of patients and families as they move through the healthcare system; utilizes untapped and alternative resources as necessary. Sustains a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Enthusiastically supports leadership in efforts to meet and sustain the regulatory compliance efforts of the department and hospital. Monitors and complies with safety and departmental policies and procedures. Ensures all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis. Is mindful of CCHMCs processes and compliance with CMS standards and assertively communicates safety.
