We are looking to hire an Associate Director of Category Management who will roll up their sleeves, dive into the weeds, and remove roadblocks to grow the flea and tick category at Chewy. You will be a self-starter who is data-driven, with ownership of P&L, vendor management, and analytical trends, while focusing on building. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong negotiation, and vendor management abilities will make you a great fit. You will analyze and communicate sophisticated terms, margin structures, and collaborate well with teams including Finance, Inventory Management, and Site Experience. Our teams are small but growing, and you will be comfortable as an individual contributor or leading 1-3 team members. This AD role requires strong ownership, a passion for innovation, and hustle. The location can be based in Seattle, Florida, or Boston. What You’ll Do: Lead and develop a high-growth business. Help launch new initiatives and engagements. Own the P&L, vendor relationships, and conduct regular business reviews. Work with Business Vertical VPs to develop goals for the Category Management team. Ensure merchandising plans and delivers on key P&L metrics. Negotiate sophisticated deal structures with vendor partners, focusing on long-term growth and scale. Collaborate across functions such as Delivery Experience, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to execute strategies. Introduce new insights to improve customer experience and financial performance, aligned with Chewy's fundamentals. Travel up to 25% as needed. What You'll Need: 10+ years of proven experience in Category Management, Merchandising, Buying, Analysis, Product, or related fields. At least 8+ years of negotiation experience. Leadership experience with measurable impact. Ecommerce experience preferred. Strong skills in Excel; SQL and Tableau are a plus. Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred). Bonus: High-level critical thinking and external partnership skills. Excellent business judgment and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective influencing skills across a cross-matrix organization. #LI-BB2 The salary offered may vary based on experience, education, and location.
