Postal Clerk

Reporting to the Auxiliary Services Manager, the temporary Postal Clerk will provide customer service and mail processing responsibilities in support of the university mail facility, Wesleyan Station. Responsibilities: Sort and distribute incoming, outgoing and inter-office mail in a timely and accurate manner. Assist and advise customers at service window. Inform the public of available options, postal laws and regulations while providing exceptional customer service. Perform walking and/or auto route delivery duties ensuring timely and accurate distribution and collection of mail to and from campus locations. Handle large mail bags and parcels including packing and unloading vans, hand carts and hand trucks Produce daily deposits Other duties as assigned This is an on-campus position working up to 25hrs per week for the month of September. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma and three years related experience. Ability to process a significant volume of mail quickly and accurately. Ability to communicate effectively with constituents. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to lift, carry and regularly move large mailbags and parcels with or without accommodations. Valid Connecticut driver's license and safe driving history.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree. Post office work experience. Familiarity with campus buildings & departments. Additional Applicant Instructions: Position is opened until filled. Applicants must submit a cover letter and resume. Pay Rate:

$16.35/hr.
