Java Developer
We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to support backend development efforts focused on tax calculations for securities transactions. This role involves working on both new and existing codebases, with an emphasis on performance, maintainability, and accuracy. Responsibilities: Develop new backend code and enhance existing modules using Java to implement tax calculations on securities transactions. Analyze requirements, design solutions, code, test, debug, and support various submodules. Serve as a change agent by continuously improving processes, products, and services. Communicate effectively with management and team members to ensure alignment and progress. Follow best practices in software development and mentor junior team members. Contribute to a respectful and professional work environment through integrity and accountability. Requirements: 4+ years of experience in Java development, including Java 8 SE. Strong background in algorithm design and analysis. Basic familiarity with financial securities and transactions (e.g., stocks, options, bonds). Experience debugging and refactoring legacy codebases to improve maintainability and reduce bugs. Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical requirements. Desired Skills: Familiarity with partnership tax allocations. Experience with JUnit or other unit testing frameworks. Proficiency with Git source control.
