Job Summary: The Manufacturing Buyer is responsible for executing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and supporting operational supply continuity for HOLT Manufacturing. This role oversees purchasing of materials, components, and services to support production, packaging, field service, and engineering operations within the manufacturing business. This role requires strong cross-functional coordination, negotiation skills, and the ability to support timely execution of the production plan. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development. Essential Functions: Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS) Model, promote, reinforce, and recognize the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission Collaborates with Corporate Procurement to initiate, approve, and onboard new suppliers in accordance with company policies and standards to include contract negotiation and execution Collaborates with Corporate Procurement to identify opportunities for cost savings and/or improved products/services that are common across the enterprise Manages purchasing activities for assigned categories, ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet Manufacturing production and field service needs Participates and contributes to supplier selection, qualification, and performance evaluation processes Coordinates purchasing and pricing arrangements with approved suppliers based on market variability and volume Monitors and analyzes supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost; initiate corrective action as needed Serves as the point of escalation for issues unresolved by the Purchasing Planning Analysts Collaborates with Production Planners, Project Managers and Engineering to ensure alignment on material requirements and lead times Reviews and approves purchase orders, resolves PO discrepancies, and manages changes to delivery schedules Conducts regular business reviews with critical suppliers to ensure performance and alignment with company goals Drives continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing processes, cost savings, and supply chain reliability Supports ERP system maintenance and data integrity related to purchasing records and supplier information Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards Performs other duties assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and purchasing best practices Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and similar data analysis tools Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently Great attention to detail and solid prioritization skills Ability to identify problems and generate solutions Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, and in writing Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field required Five or more years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles in a manufacturing environment required Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating purchasing agreements required Prior supervisory and/or team leadership experience strongly preferred Supervisory Responsibilities: None Travel: Up to 10% travel to supplier locations or between facilities may be required Valid driver's license required Physical Requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform job duties and responsibilities This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc. This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in a professional manner This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 10 lbs.
