Network Engineer Opportunity

An employer is looking to add a Network Engineer to their team in St. Louis, MO. This person will be responsible for the ongoing support and reliability of all components within the ecosystem, encompassing platforms, networks, applications, and services. In this role, you will provide escalation support for important network services, ensuring the operational stability and performance of our client's global network. You will collaborate closely with network operations and service teams, and provide in-depth technical support and guidance for all multicast- and WAN-related issues and implementations. This role requires a proactive problem solver with a deep understanding of multicast protocols, WAN infrastructure, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. When necessary, this person will lead upgrades, coordinating efforts with internal teams and third parties. This includes building accurate documentation and monitoring system performance to support business activities and continuous improvement. Skills and requirements include proven experience in network products and services, with specific focus on Cisco WAN technologies, including ASR and Nexus9K. Expertise in LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPLS, LDP, GRE, BGP, OSPF, and ISIS within a VRF context for L2/L3VPN services, Traffic Engineering, and RSVP. Comprehensive knowledge of multicast concepts, including PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, IGMP, MVPN, and MLDP. Proficiency in product-aligned, service-focused work, with a solid grasp of network automation, SRE, and DevOps or equivalent experience. Excellent skills in network packet analysis and packet capture tools for troubleshooting. Familiarity with load balancing technologies, TCP/IP, and multicast in internet environments. Understanding of low-latency technologies commonly used in the financial sector. Experience in Data Center Networking, including Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Cisco ACI, VxLAN, and related technologies. Proficiency in Service Management processes, preferably with ITIL knowledge. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a technology-related field is essential. CCIE certification, is highly desirable (including actively pursuing accreditations). Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols. Substantial experience (5+ Years) as a WAN Network Engineer. Exposure to Network Service Providers or the Financial Services Sector.
