We are seeking a GIS Business Analyst to utilize geospatial data for network planning, market analysis, and infrastructure deployment. The role involves evaluating coverage areas, customer demographics, and asset locations to support data-driven decision-making and optimize service delivery.
Responsibilities
Support informed decision-making by applying utility design and engineering principles.
Analyze and visualize spatial data related to fiber optic, wireless, and broadband infrastructure.
Develop and maintain geospatial dashboards, maps, and reports for strategic planning and operations.
Integrate and analyze datasets from FCC, BDC, NTIA, and internal network data.
Utilize Power BI and Smallworld GIS software.
Maintain advanced knowledge of GIS software, collection tools, and equipment.
Use Excel, SQL, and scripting tools (Python, FME, Model Builder) for automation.
Collaborate with engineering, planning, and sales teams to identify coverage gaps and market opportunities.
Create predictive models and conduct site suitability analyses using ESRI GIS tools.
Assist with broadband grant applications and compliance reporting using accurate spatial data.
Translate complex spatial data into actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Maintain spatial databases, ensuring data integrity and usability.
Support process automation and workflow optimization for data handling and reporting.
Review project data with designers and input into ESRI or similar software.
Maintain confidentiality of customer and internal data.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience in GIS business analysis; 1+ year in telecom or utilities.
Proficiency in ESRI GIS software: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and web applications; quick learner of new software.
Experience in geospatial analysis and data visualization.
Strong understanding of telecommunications networks, including fiber and wireless.
Experience with data integration, cleaning, and transformation.
Familiarity with FCC Form 477, BDC, and NTIA Broadband Fabric.
Knowledge of telecom methodologies, tools, and software.
Business intelligence and reporting skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to improve processes through innovative techniques.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to convey insights clearly and collaborate across teams.
Strong interpersonal skills for diverse team collaboration.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. Flexibility to work outside normal hours as needed is required.

Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
Approximately 25% overnight travel may be necessary.
