Production Shop Planner (Electronics Mechanic)
You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (ELECTRONICS MECHANIC) in the ELECTRONICS SHOP (C/967) of the ELECTRICAL DIVISION (C/950), PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT (C/900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze. Responsibilities: You will review job orders, related instructions and drawings received in the production shop to determine materials needed to accomplish the work outlined. You will review manhour estimates supplied by Group Planners, discuss discrepancies with shop supervision and suggest needed changes to Group Planners. You will initiate procurement of material by preparation of stub requisition for material in shop stores. You will follow up to assure timely delivery of material and contact the Supply Department to expedite slow shipments or urgently needed items. You will work with shop supervisors and other planners in coordinating work among the several work areas of a shop. Requirements: Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.
