Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software)
This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information and Technology, Border Enforcement and Management Directorate, Border Information Technology Systems Division located in Williston, VT. Responsibilities Joining the Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information and Technology will allow you to use your experience in applications software, policies and procedures. This position starts at a salary of $107,535.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $139,797.00 (GS-13, Step 10). In this Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software) position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals. Typical work assignments include: Developing and interpreting procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of application software services. Designing, developing, integrating and deploying software solutions in support of complex, real-time border surveillance capabilities. Translating and interpreting IT policies, standards, and guidelines for agency-wide software design. Managing assigned projects and coordinates with impacted stakeholders by providing expert technical advice and guidance. Recommending information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organizational outcomes. Scheduling and presenting technical briefings, and clarifying processes and/or procedures for application software deployment to stakeholders. Collaborating between working groups and the Project/Program Manager (PM) to monitor project production and the deployment timeline of application software to meet project goals and deadlines. Coordinating with business owners, internal and external stakeholders, as well as the application development team to interpret, compose, validate, and translate functional (i.e., business) requirements into technical requirements in order to develop new and innovative methods for software design, testing, and implementation.
