Job description Shipping Manager Contract administration with shipping/ logistic companies as well as coordination with other plants. Supporting Corporate logistics manager ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To work safely is in an electrical manufacturing environment, on job sites, and in customer facilities. Interact positively and collaboratively with all levels of the organization; production team members, peers, engineering, quality, sales, administration, and senior leadership. Understand, display, and champion the Core Values of the organization. Implement strategy for all heavy hauls- identifying carriers, preparing contracts, cost savings plans, reliable logistics. Contract administration Work with Engineering during the quoting and design process to optimize the dimension and weights for cost-effective shipment. Get requests for quotes & negotiate contracts for heavy hauls or oversized equipment. Work with selected vendors on providing price Maintain a matrix for the cost of the shipment- based on weights/ dimension/ shipping place, etc. This chart could be in $$/miles or $$/ lbs of weight and have some factors to be applied in case of extra features Ensure that we have a good contract for shipment and enforce the contract during shipment. Coordinate for shipment with respective plant Shipping personnel – including customer contacts, Trucking/Logistic company coordination/ PMO coordination, etc. Making sure that any abnormal situation like delay/ Damage is communicated expeditiously to all stakeholders. International shipping & freight – including but not limited to cost-effective Road, rail, air, and ocean (i.e. barges/towboats) EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Associate degree or work related field needed. 10 years’ experience in General Management/ Commercial roles Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Benefits:
