(SSI) SSI is seeking a Linux System Administrator to join a team of administrators with standard Linux system administration duties at the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Position requires work onsite in Vicksburg, MS. Relocation assistance package available. Duties And Responsibilities Perform standard Linux System Administration duties to maintain multi-user systems including Linux application and license servers, virtual machines, and GP/GPU clusters. Coordinate with network administrators. Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain documentation, tune performance, install software, and manage storage. Develop and monitor policies for resource allocation. Participate in installation, integration, testing, and maintenance of HPC systems and software. Assist with resource forecasting and optimize resource usage through scheduling and load balancing. Requirements Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance. DoD 8570 compliance certifications such as Security+, Linux+, RedHat, etc. Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years, Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with no experience required. Knowledge of Linux and Unix OS concepts and systems administration experience. Ability to document procedures and ensure IA compliance. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with software compilation, installation, and porting. Understanding of application scaling and performance tuning. Experience with storage architectures (SAN, SAS, FC, SATA). Skills in benchmarking and system optimization. Knowledge of multi-factor authentication, LDAP, Kerberos, and security standards.
