Pediatric Neuroradiology Career Opportunity Louisville, KY Norton Childrens Radiology, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and a part of Norton Childrens Medical Group, is recruiting for additional pediatric radiologists across multiple subspecialties. The practice currently includes fellowship-trained pediatric radiologists with training in various subspecialties, as well as a registered radiologist assistant, specialized nurses and radiology technicians. The newly renovated radiology space at Norton Childrens Hospital features advanced imaging technology: Two MRIs and one 3 tesla (3T) MRI machine Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scanner Two 256-slice CT scanners Biplane interventional suite FerriScan for liver or cardiac iron quantification Fluoroscopy equipment Advanced cardiac imaging (CT and MRI) to help diagnose and evaluate children and adults with congenital heart disease Ultrasound elastography to evaluate for chronic liver conditions Digital X-ray technology that uses minimal radiation compared with older machines Other facilities served by the team include Norton Womens & Childrens Hospital and Norton Childrens Medical Center, in which a new Siemens 3T MRI has recently been installed. Access to this advanced technology and multiple campuses allows the group to grow volumes and expand in complexity. As an integrated entity since 2020, Norton Childrens Medical Group, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, has recruited over 100 providers, added four new accredited fellowships, expanded outreach throughout Kentucky, and increased funding from the trial drug network through Norton Childrens Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine. About the Position Pediatric Neuroradiologist Join current team of pediatric neuroradiologists Opportunities to participate in epilepsy research with Norton Neuroscience Institute Capability to use advanced neuroscience technology such as FreeSurfer and MRtrix3 brain imaging software to extract and aggregate data on epilepsy patients Sophisticated software package that allows for the coregistration of eight layers of radiographic data Swoop Portable MR Imaging System to help assess conditions such as ischemia/infarction, midline shift, ventriculomegaly and bleeding Work alongside a newly hired pediatric neuropsychologist with three decades of cognitive neuroscience research experience Partner with an engineering lab experienced in radiographic AI analysis and handling large amounts of data Opportunities to attend epilepsy conference, head conference, trauma PI conference and neuro tumor board Requirements for Position Medical degree/diploma Residency/fellowship certification Kentucky and Indiana medical license or license eligible About Norton Children's Neuroscience Institute Norton Children's Neuroscience Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, includes neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, a neuroradiologist, a radiation oncologist, neuropsychologists, neurology advanced practice providers and neurosurgery advanced practice providers. Norton Childrens Neuroscience Institute offers advanced technologies, such as Visualase for epilepsy surgery, virtual reality Surgical Theater that allows surgeons to combine brain scans into a single 3D image, and state-of-the-art electroencephalography capabilities. It also offers vagal nerve stimulation, electromyography and nerve conduction studies. Norton Childrens was the first in Kentucky and among the first in the nation to use neurostimulation in a pediatric patient. Norton Childrens Neuroscience Institute also is the clinical home for an academic team of 15 neurology residents and a pediatric epilepsy fellowship. The academic team is involved in a significant amount of clinical research, working with Norton Childrens Cancer Institute and Norton Childrens Research Institute, both affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine.
