Inpatient Pediatrician – Gallup Indian Medical Center (Contract)

Location: Gallup, NM

Start Date: June 1, 2025

Contract Type: 6-Month Initial Term with Option Periods

Client: Indian Health Service (Federal Government Contractor Position)

Position Overview

Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC), a critical access hospital serving the Navajo Nation and surrounding communities, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Inpatient Pediatrician for a contract position. This opportunity allows physicians to provide meaningful, high-impact care to a culturally diverse and medically underserved population.

Schedule

  • 7 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off
  • 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Flexible scheduling within the inpatient pediatric department

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient pediatric care
  • Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic pediatric conditions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for care planning and coordination
  • Participate in emergency and neonatal response care
  • Document all patient interactions and care in an EMR system (preferably RPMS)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the United States
  • Current DEA registration and valid BLS, PALS, and/or ACLS certifications
  • Minimum of one year of inpatient pediatric experience preferred
  • Experience with RPMS or similar EMR systems is desirable

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a federal background check, including clearance under the Indian Child Protection Act
  • Must meet all credentialing and privileging requirements as set by GIMC
