American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring BCLS certification, with Epic experience preferred for first-time travelers.Job Details•Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting,•Care for medical and post-surgical patients with remote telemetry monitoring,•Typical nurse to patient ratios are 1:6, with 1:7 in rare cases of last-minute call-outs,•12-hour night shifts scheduled (3x12 hours, 18:45 to 7:15),•Contracts available for 16 to 20 weeks,•Every other weekend scheduling required,•Required to float to other units with similar skill requirements as needed,•Unit uses Pyxis for medication, Epic for documentation, and SBAR for communication,•12-hour unit orientation with additional hospital orientation during the first week,Job Requirements•Active NC or Compact RN license required at start (pending OK for consideration),•Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience required,•Current BCLS certification required,•Epic charting experience required for first-time travelers,•IV start and telemetry monitoring skills required,•Ability to interpret tele rhythms and manage non-titratable cardiac drips,•References required at the time of start; two supervisor-level references from the last 12 months highly preferred,Additional Information•Candidates must not request RTO after booking and no RTO is allowed during the first week due to orientation,•A maximum of 7 days RTO is permitted if not on a holiday, with candidates required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays,•Scrub colors are navy blue, white, or a combination of both,•All required modules must be completed prior to start and annually,•Travelers may be floated to affiliate hospitals based on census and skill set,•Previous employees of the health system must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler,•Current travel Per Diem clinicians within the health system are not eligible for travel contracts,•Fatigue policy limits to no more than 5 consecutive workdays or 60 hours per week,),•hash,:•13910736801239504117,
