Must-Have:
Neuro experience with patients such as ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, encephalopathy, seizures, altered mental status, and encephalitis is required.
General Med/Tele skillset is necessary, which includes stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, peripheral intravenous (PIV) starts, chest tube management, nasogastric tube placement, and drain/tube management.
Experience with medication management for cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and intravenous fluids is needed.
Description:
This role requires an RN specializing in MedSurg/Tele.
The facility has 874 licensed beds and is a Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital.
The unit has 24 beds and patient ratios are typically 1:4-6, depending on acuity.
Surge staffing may increase ratios up to 1:7-8.
The patient population includes those with neuro-related conditions.
Support staff includes CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, and respiratory therapists available 24/7.
Telemetry monitoring is conducted by nurses who read monitors and respond accordingly.
The role may require floating as needed within the designated region and scope of practice.
Travelers will work every other weekend and are expected to work 75% of holidays.
Up to six days off may be approved, excluding holidays.
Scrub color is navy.
