Cnc Machinist

The CNC Machinist must be able to read and work from blueprints, as well as program, set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills.

Duties And Responsibilities

Essential:

  • Setup and operate CNC Lathe using programs generated in Master Cam.
  • Edit and optimize CNC Lathe programs for efficiency.
  • Machine basic fixtures, and tooling to meet machining requirements.
  • Measure and examine completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machine shop equipment.
  • Operate and rig material handling equipment (overhead cranes, gantries, forklifts).
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years formal training (vocation or technical school).
  • Five years previous experience in a machine shop and three years CNC machine operation.
  • Must have own basic machinist's tools for machine setup and inspection.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and machining techniques.
  • Familiar with Machine Shop Safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes.
  • Experience in Master Cam programming is a plus.
  • CNC Vertical and/or Horizontal Machining Centers experience is a plus.

Pay, benefits and work schedule:

Base pay rate for this position is $25.50 to $34.50.
