Advanced Technology Engineering department is responsible for successful and effective transfer of new technologies in and out of Micron Manassas Fab that enable fast matching of the sending fab performance on yield improvement and cycle time reduction towards Time To Mature Yield with great collaboration with sending site transfer counterparts, Micron Central Team and all other related departments.

As a Fab Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working with a team of other process and equipment engineers responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. This position will identify, diagnose and resolve process related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC methodology. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and carrying out process, equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost reduction activities, handling new process baseline qualifications and managing, auditing and liaising with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives.

Responsibilities:

    Complete required safety training and ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with Microns safety policies.

    Manage, measure, and monitor DRAM technology transfer project for assigned area(s) to ensure deliverables and schedules are met.

  • n

    Build collaboration with sending Fab counterparts and MCT, thru periodic meetings/1:1 and other means to achieve good communication with counterparts

  • n

    Partner with Process Engineering (PE), Process Integration Engineering (PIE), Manufacturing Equipment Engineering (ME) and Fab Area Leadership to close gaps to meet technology qualification and volume manufacturing ramp

    Ensure execution to alignment projects and programs in assigned area(s) to meet milestones for transfer, startup, yield, quality, and ramp

  • n

    Own new technology node related Value Engineering projects and Tool Evaluations

  • n
  • n

    Collaborate with sending site on the release plan of tools and process mismatches

    n
  • n
  • n

    Manage, measure and monitor projects in assigned area(s) to ensure deliverables and time frames are met.

  • n

    Capture lessons learned from the DRAM technology being transferred and the latest DRAM technology and implement mitigation plans effectively

    Make sure NPI project timeline is met and all MSR deliverables are captured, presented and documents. All actions from MSR are completed in timely manner.) Collaboratively working with your Planning and PI to have PRD/TRD sign off for new / upgrade tools on time to meet the PC/EFF start date.

Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelors or Masters Degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related engineering field

    n

  • n

    Experience in experimental design and data analysis.

  • n

    Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Ability to use extensive technical knowledge to guide strategic directions.

  • n
  • n

    Ability to resolve complex issues through root-cause or model-based problem solving.

  • n
  • n

    Proficiency in statistics, preferably in statistical process control.

Preferred Qualifications

    n
  • n

    1 year or internship experience in semiconductor processing in 300mm manufacturing/R&D fab

    n
  • n
  • n

    Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Experience in programming or scripting is desirable.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Knowledge of semiconductor processing, solid-state device physics, and of dry etch processing or plasma physics is desirable.
