Our staff leads the power markets engineering process and collaborates with Kiewit’s construction teams to approach construction-driven engineering with a focus on safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit’s legacy of excellence.nnLocationnnThis position is located in our Lone Tree, Colorado office with some flexibility for hybrid/remote options.nnResponsibilitiesnnEvaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, industry codes and standards to projectsnPerform high complexity engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection,nDevelop mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, specifications, equipment arrangement, and layout drawings, for piping and power plant systems including steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, flue gas, hydrogen, fuel handling, heat transfer systems, and utility systemsnPrepare sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment including, but not limited to, boilers, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers and pumpsnPrepare mechanical engineering designs, equipment lists, general arrangements, aux power demands, and process flow diagrams (PFDs)nPrepare piping calculations of fluid/pressure rates, using AFT FATHOMnCheck design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements and company standardsnPrepare requisite mechanical documentation for construction and procurement packages for componentsnAssist in the development of schedules, work assignments, and staffing requirements to ensure successful project completionnCoordinate with other drafters, designers, and engineers and review work progress and results, as well as provide technical mentoring and/or oversight to more junior engineersnBalance multiple engineering tasks concurrentlynnQualificationsnnAt least 10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering and design performing detailed design of mechanical systems and equipment for Power generation or Carbon Capture.nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university program.nPE license (or in process of completion) preferred.nHighly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative, with experience and interest in leading projects and other engineers/designers.nStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first timenExperience performing detailed design through construction, for EPC projects preferred.nExperience creating engineering specifications, P&ID's, and procurement packages is required and working to relevant mechanical and Power ASME codes is required.nStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, strong time management skills and attention to detail.nTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectivesnn#LI-JB1nnOther Requirements:n• Regular, reliable attendancen• Work productively and meet deadlines timelyn• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environmentn• Perform work safely and effectively.
