We offer a variety of engineering services, including owner's engineering, project development, detailed engineering and design, construction management and plant services. Our engineering teams bring power projects to life across North America in the following areas: • Gas-fired generation • Power delivery • Environmental retrofits • Renewables and new technology • Water/wastewater We are a high performing team of engineers and designers that develop projects through the project life-cycle engaging exciting projects throughout North America. Our staff leads the power markets engineering process and collaborates with Kiewit’s construction teams to approach construction-driven engineering with a focus on safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit’s legacy of excellence. Location
This position is located in our Lone Tree, Colorado office with some flexibility for hybrid/remote options. Responsibilities
Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, industry codes and standards to projects Perform high complexity engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection, Develop mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, specifications, equipment arrangement, and layout drawings, for piping and power plant systems including steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, flue gas, hydrogen, fuel handling, heat transfer systems, and utility systems Prepare sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment including, but not limited to, boilers, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers and pumps Prepare mechanical engineering designs, equipment lists, general arrangements, aux power demands, and process flow diagrams (PFDs) Prepare piping calculations of fluid/pressure rates, using AFT FATHOM Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements and company standards Prepare requisite mechanical documentation for construction and procurement packages for components Assist in the development of schedules, work assignments, and staffing requirements to ensure successful project completion Coordinate with other drafters, designers, and engineers and review work progress and results, as well as provide technical mentoring and/or oversight to more junior engineers Balance multiple engineering tasks concurrently Qualifications
At least 10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering and design performing detailed design of mechanical systems and equipment for Power generation or Carbon Capture. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university program. PE license (or in process of completion) preferred. Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative, with experience and interest in leading projects and other engineers/designers. Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time Experience performing detailed design through construction, for EPC projects preferred. Experience creating engineering specifications, P&ID's, and procurement packages is required and working to relevant mechanical and Power ASME codes is required. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, strong time management skills and attention to detail. Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives

Work overtime and weekends as required.
