SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

    n
  • Preparation and/or cooking of all menus/meals.
  • n
  • Service and clean-up of all meals, which includes dishwashing.
  • n
  • Order, purchase and receive food and/or non-food products.
  • n
  • Date, rotate and store all food and non-food kitchen products.
  • n
  • Assure that daily breakfast and lunch menu, food usage and lunch count are recorded.
  • n
  • Keep kitchen and cooking utensils, appliances, cooler, freezer, floors cleaned according to local and industry health standards.
  • n
  • Keep accurate records of time sheet, travel, food usage, cooler temps etc. Submit all purveyor bills to Fiscal Assistant
  • n
  • Attend/receive training as required.
  • n
  • Substitute for Food Service Manager and other kitchen staff when needed.
  • n
  • Must follow dress code and health requirements for kitchen staff.
  • n
  • Must be able to communicate by phone and in person with others.
  • n
  • Cook may be required to prepare off-site lunches as needed.
  • n
  • Purchase and prepare snacks/meals for required training as needed.
  • n
  • Maintain good communication with classroom/office staff.
  • n
  • Promote Butler County Children's Center in the community by commonly sharing the responsibility of active recruitment of children.
  • n
  • Create and maintain a positive organizational culture by demonstrating the program-wide behavioral expectations in their social interactions with children, families, community members and colleagues.
  • n
  • Accept other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

n
    n
  • Able to obtain Act 33/34, FBI Clearance.
  • n
  • Experience in food preparation for large groups.
  • n
  • High School education or GED.
  • n
  • Must obtain and update a physical every two years.
  • n
  • Must maintain high personal sanitary standards.
  • n
  • Attain/maintain Serv Safe Food Safety Manager Certification
  • n
n
Physical Requirements:
n
    n
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen.
  • n
  • Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment.
  • n
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • n
  • Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.
  • n
