Early Learning Connections
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
Preparation and/or cooking of all menus/meals.
Service and clean-up of all meals, which includes dishwashing.
Order, purchase and receive food and/or non-food products.
Date, rotate and store all food and non-food kitchen products.
Assure that daily breakfast and lunch menu, food usage and lunch count are recorded.
Keep kitchen and cooking utensils, appliances, cooler, freezer, floors cleaned according to local and industry health standards.
Keep accurate records of time sheet, travel, food usage, cooler temps etc. Submit all purveyor bills to Fiscal Assistant
Attend/receive training as required.
Substitute for Food Service Manager and other kitchen staff when needed.
Must follow dress code and health requirements for kitchen staff.
Must be able to communicate by phone and in person with others.
Cook may be required to prepare off-site lunches as needed.
Purchase and prepare snacks/meals for required training as needed.
Maintain good communication with classroom/office staff.
Promote Butler County Children's Center in the community by commonly sharing the responsibility of active recruitment of children.
Create and maintain a positive organizational culture by demonstrating the program-wide behavioral expectations in their social interactions with children, families, community members and colleagues.
Accept other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Able to obtain Act 33/34, FBI Clearance.
Experience in food preparation for large groups.
High School education or GED.
Must obtain and update a physical every two years.
Must maintain high personal sanitary standards.
Attain/maintain Serv Safe Food Safety Manager Certification
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen.
Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.
