We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electric Motor Mechanic to join our maintenance and repair team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various types of electric motors, generators, and related equipment. This position requires technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

· Inspect and diagnose problems with electric motors, generators, and related components.

· Disassemble motors and components to assess wear, damage, or failure.

· Repair or replace defective parts such as bearings, armatures, rotors, stators, and brushes.

· Perform rewinding of coils and reassemble electric motors.

· Operate tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders with precision and safety.

· Use diagnostic tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and vibration analyzers to test motor performance.

· Conduct preventive maintenance on motors and electrical systems.

· Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports for all work performed.

· Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all operations.

· Collaborate with engineers, maintenance staff, and other team members to resolve motor-related issues.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in electromechanical or electrical technology preferred.

· Proven experience (2–5 years) as an electric motor mechanic or in a similar role.

· Strong knowledge of electric motor principles, components, and repair techniques.

· Experience with AC and DC motors, servo motors, and industrial drives.

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

· Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized motor repair equipment.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Good communication and documentation abilities.

· Physical ability to lift heavy components and work in industrial settings.

Preferred Skills

· Certification from the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA) or similar organization.

· Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or utility environments.

· Knowledge of motor control systems and PLCs.

Working Conditions

· Full-time position; may require occasional overtime or on-call work.

· Work is typically performed in a workshop or industrial setting.

· Exposure to electrical systems, rotating equipment, and potentially loud environments.

· Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
