Accounting Specialist
We're seeking a highly organized and proactive Accounting Specialist to oversee a variety of accounting and clerical tasks. This role supports the accounting department with data entry, invoice processing, account reconciliations, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced small business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Prepare and maintain financial documents, records, and reports
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings
- Enter data into accounting software and databases accurately
- Prepare invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders
- Support audits by providing documentation and answering inquiries
- Monitor financial transactions and ensure proper classification
- Maintain and organize financial filing systems (physical and electronic)
- Perform general administrative and clerical tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, MS Dynamics, or similar)
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information confidentially
