Child Care Worker - SRO
Major Duties And Responsibilities: Assists with developing independent living skills, such as budgeting, shopping, laundry, and traveling as well as encouraging independence in basic Activities of Daily Living skills such as personal hygiene. Promotes and fosters independent functioning, mature peer relationships, and responsible decision-making. Assists in house meetings twice a week to ensure that all items are covered, including menu planning, chore assignment, problem solving peer disputes and recreational planning. Provides immediate intervention to defuse potentially volatile situations that may arise between residents. Assists residents in keeping their scheduled appointments. Assists residents in menu planning, shopping, and cooking. Participates in admission and orientation of new residents. Co-facilitates groups with other staff on independent living skills for residents of the SRO and the Outreach Service Center. Completes all required documentation daily. Communicates important information to Program Manager and briefs the staff for the next shift. Supervise residents as they self-administer medication and keep medication record.
