This position reports to: Quality Manager Your Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Lead to drive and enhance our supplier quality function supporting the manufacturing of Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Static Transfer Switches (STS), and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) for critical power applications. This role will be responsible for ensuring supplier performance and compliance, managing quality risks across the global supply chain, and leading a cross-functional team of engineers and inspectors to support high-reliability product delivery to customers in data centers, healthcare, defense, and mission-critical infrastructure. Key responsibilities include: Lead the qualification, assessment, and onboarding of strategic suppliers Manage risk-based audits and surveillance plans to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards Drive supplier capability development aligned to critical power system reliability and customer expectations Develop and track supplier quality KPIs Implement Supplier Scorecard Programs and drive regular reviews Lead root cause analysis and Corrective Action/Preventive Action processes for incoming part defects and field returns traced to suppliers Utilize structured tools: 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA Collaborate with suppliers to implement process improvements, quality controls, and mistake-proofing (Poka-Yoke) Oversee incoming inspection strategy and resource deployment Work closely with R&D and operations teams to ensure supplier readiness for program launch milestones Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and Inspectors Foster a culture of accountability, quality ownership, and continuous improvement Uphold ABB's core values of safety and integrity, taking ownership of your actions and demonstrating care for your colleagues and the business. Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with 10+ years of experience in supplier quality preferably in electromechanical or power equipment industries. Strong understanding of critical power applications, system reliability, and field performance expectations Working knowledge of QC/CI tools Demonstrated leadership skills Demonstrated project management, organization, and planning skills Experience leading groups/people and influence at all levels of the organization Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems Strong change management skills Up to 15% domestic/international travel for supplier audits, development visits, and escalations We value people from different backgrounds.
