Ceded Reinsurance Claims Operations Specialist

Everest has an opportunity for a Claims Operations Specialist to join our Ceded Reinsurance team. This is a hybrid position working 3 days onsite, 2 remote in either our Warren, NJ, New York City or Chicago office. In this role, you will be responsible for applying reinsurance structures to claims, collaborating with internal claims professionals, coordinating audits, resolving reinsurance-related inquiries, and managing assigned tasks within ceded reinsurance operations. To succeed in this role, you should bring a strong understanding of reinsurance processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serve as a Point of Contact within Ceded Reinsurance for Everest Insurance Claim Department for all Lines of Business. Create and maintain timely claim identification and diary reports for workflow management. Create and issue reinsurance loss notices per reinsurance treaty and facultative contract terms. Respond to reinsurance inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Assist the Company claim professionals understand reinsurance structures and net exposure for losses. Develop and maintain external relationships with reinsurers and brokers. Work with Accounting/Finance to ensure premium and loss information is accurately captured in order to process reinsurance. Collaborate and support Placement team by executing on the contract requirements, updates and internal reporting. Facilitate annual audits
both underwriting and claims, setting up access to auditors, trouble-shooting IT issues and arranging / participating in wrap up meetings. Develop working knowledge of internal data systems. Review existing processes and procedures and makes recommendations to enhance efficiencies. Flag issues and escalate urgent matters to management. Handle various projects as assigned. Work Experience & Qualifications: 5-7 years of reinsurance, reinsurance claims or reinsurance operations experience. Ability to read and understand US and global reinsurance contracts and calculate reinsurance based on contract terms. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, reinsurance and the legal and regulatory environment. Basic understanding of insurance policies, coverage issues for property, casualty and specialty lines of business. Experience with MS Office products, including Excel with some level of proficiency including VLUPs and pivots and formulas. Collaborative mind-set and willingness to work with people outside immediate reporting hierarchy to improve processes and generate optimal departmental efficiency. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Insurance industry designation(s)/certification(s) preferred. The base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $125,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
