Certified Medication Aide
As a Certified Medication Assistant at Ashton Medical Lodge, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to our residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Your responsibilities will include: Dispensing oral and topical medications to residents per physician's order, and document properly. Observe residents for symptoms and conditions that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects and report any problems to the nurse. Properly record medications that were given for the day and dosage in the Medication Administration Record (MAR) Monitor medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medication is ordered, received in the facility, administered, and at shift change as required applicable state/federal regulations. Demonstrate awareness of proper infection control practice by using Universal Precautions and following policies and procedures, Including OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standards Assist with Resident Care as needed. Must be willing to work as a Certified Nurse Aide when needed. Qualifications: Must have a current Medication Aide Certification and Certified Nurse Aide in the State of Texas Must be in good standing on the Nursing Assistant Registry in the State of Texas and the Nurse Aide Misconduct Registry.
