Job Opportunity at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy

The Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy, under the Attorney General's Office, seeks highly motivated people who desire to work in a professional environment and succeed while working with a like-minded team to accomplish the Academy's Mission. This position is the first point of contact between the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy and the public. This position performs a wide range of general and agency-specific office and administrative tasks for the Academy in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. The Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy is located in Douglas, Wyoming. Douglas is the home of the Jackalope. Douglas promotes, provides, and delivers vital resources to its residents and visitors to allow them to live, work, and play in a great community. Each August, Douglas hosts the Wyoming State Fair. Processes the Academy's mail (incoming and outgoing). Monitors the Academy's general email box and mail voice box/messages. Creates weekly electronic board messages. Responsible for the production, maintenance, and distribution of all printed and digital training resource materials for training courses. Schedule and maintain dorm room and training room reservations for all users attending training. Handle reservations for all user groups and tours. Order, maintain, and distribute all office supplies and training supplies. Make recommendations on office equipment for repairs, maintenance, and replacement. Assist the training specialist and serve as the backup to the Academy Clothing Canteen. Handle fiscal duties as directed by the Academy Director. Assist, as directed by the training specialist, with meetings of the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy Advisory Board, Communications Training Advisory Board, and Detention Training Advisory Board. Preference may be given to applicants with professional office experience. Knowledge includes: Skill in working with the public by providing a high level of customer service. Skill in word processing, spreadsheets, publishing, and email communication. Skill in organization, planning, and time management to work independently. Skill in oral and written communication. Knowledge of office procedures, standards, practices, and etiquette. Knowledge of inventory and purchasing procedures. Knowledge of the agency's mission, goals, policies, and procedures. Knowledge and skill in creating and administering computer-based testing. Ability to work consistently at a rapid pace with a high level of accuracy under deadlines, heavy workloads, and unexpected interruptions. Ability to make independent decisions to solve problems. Ability to relate and work well with others, even under pressure. Ability to learn new tasks and gain new knowledge quickly and accurately. Ability to work with common office technology, computers, cameras, and communication systems. Minimum qualifications include: Education: Associate's Degree (typically in Business) Experience: 0-1 year of progressive professional office work experience (typically in Business Office Communications). OR Education & Experience Substitution: 2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business Office Communications). Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Physical working conditions include: Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
