Global Trade Principal Specialist, Customs

here The Global Trade Principal Specialist, Customs, will have responsibility for interpreting and executing global trade policies and processes for the Customs Function within the Advanced Structures Strategic Business Unit. You will ensure consistency of customs practices and guidance to operations sites importing across the SBU in North America. You will support customs operations with primary focus on duty mitigation programs and post-entry management. What You Will Do: Work onsite at our Monroe, NC facility. Lead the US Customs post-entry process, overseeing third parties for post-summary corrections, duty drawback, value reconciliation and FTA reconciliation. Analyze customs data to strategically address tariff impact and duty mitigation programs, reviewing where post-entry opportunities could result in reclaimed duty. Coordinate the gathering of supporting evidence for post-entry claims. Assist Customs Manager and Customs team on projects, tactical activities, strategic activities, training, and other customs activities as needed. Must Have Qualifications: Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience in Global Trade Customs or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience in Global Trade Customs. Prior experience with trade measures under 232 and IEEPA. Experience with US duty mitigation programs, including the US
Mexico
Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA). Experience with US post-entry processes, including post summary corrections, value reconciliation, and FTA reconciliation. Experience with importer data review, US Customs ACE system and US Customs broker portals. Preferred Qualification: Experience with duty drawbacks and Military Duty Free (MDF). Experience with SAP/GTS or other ERP applications. Experience performing free trade agreement qualification analysis. Microsoft 365 Office application experience, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
