forward-thinking Excess Casualty Underwriter
to support its Jersey City operations.
As an Excess Casualty Underwriter, you’ll take ownership of developing and managing a profitable book of business while collaborating closely with wholesale brokers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Underwrite and manage a book of
excess casualty insurance
business.
Partner with
wholesale agents and brokers
to identify and evaluate submission opportunities.
Assess risks, establish pricing, and recommend coverage terms that align with underwriting guidelines.
Monitor the performance of new and renewal business for profitability and compliance.
Make strategic decisions on renewals, pricing changes, or non-renewals as needed.
Analyze claim and industry trends to adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
Meet or exceed
production, profitability, and service targets .
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of
5 years of commercial excess casualty underwriting experience .
Strong technical knowledge of excess casualty coverages and market conditions.
Proven ability to analyze data and make sound, risk-based decisions.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to multitask and manage a dynamic workload with minimal oversight.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary:
$125,000 to $200,000
