Ability to manage high admission/discharge turnover. No history of attendance concerns. Description: General comments about the unit include a total of 32 beds and a staff of 45. Staff typically consists of a Clinical Coordinator or Charge Nurse, RNs, PCTs, and a Unit Secretary across shifts. Patient ratios are 6:1. Standard nursing equipment is used, including BiPAP (Stable), Mid/Flow, PD, Heparin Gtts, and Phillips Cardiac Monitors. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech 6.0. Ideal candidates should possess a positive and outgoing attitude. A good understanding of patient satisfaction measures is preferred. Typical procedures performed include cardiopulmonary care, and the unit can receive general medical patients, including stable COVID-19 patients. Candidates should be self-motivated and accountable, with a positive, can-do attitude. Required certifications include only BLS; ACLS is not required. Floating to similar levels of care may be required. The dress code is navy scrubs with closed-toe and closed-heel shoes. Weekend work is expected every other weekend and during major holidays. Visible and involved leadership is present on all shifts, providing great support from the nursing supervisor. The environment encourages teamwork across all shifts, fostering strong relationships with physicians. PCT, CNA, and Nurse Extern support is excellent on all shifts.
