Plymouth's Nathan Lane Operations is thrilled to offer an exceptional opportunity for an Engineering Manager to lead our Stent Fabrication team. This pivotal role centers around advancing our expertise in metal processing, transforming raw nitinol tubing into life-changing self-expanding stents. Are you ready to take the next step in your career and write a chapter in our story of innovation? This position is at our Plymouth MN manufacturing site and requires on-site presence 5 days a week. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Provides leadership to a sustaining engineering team support our stent fabrication production area. Collaborates with Operations to define strategy for our fabrication area. Collaborates with our Equipment and Automation leadership to develop business cases for equipment and automation supporting the strategic direction. Partners with AME (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering) team defining new technologies, processes, and product opportunities/initiatives. Collaborates and networks with the other manufacturing sites within the manufacturing region and broader Medtronic. May develop, evaluate, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products. Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies, processes, and equipment utilized in production. Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes, or products. Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to implementation. Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended. Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of sustaining engineering. Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery. Defines and drives standard work within functional area of responsibility. Experience leading, developing, and mentoring technical employees. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Must Have: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or a technical discipline required. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with 5+ years of managerial experience OR advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with 5+ years of managerial experience. Nice to Have: 5+ years of demonstrated people and team development experience Experience with supporting and/or deploying automation and automated processes. Experience with leading teams through automated process development - process characterization, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ and PQ phase gates. Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills with demonstrated stakeholder management. Ability to work, influence and lead in a matrix environment. Demonstrated strong planning and organizational skills. Strong project management with demonstrated leadership of technical teams. Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, meeting business expectations. Experienced with Microsoft project and office. Proven judgment in assessing risks and communicating complex technical challenges to upper management. Proven ability with development of direct reports Experience with post processing of nitinol (expansion, heat set, electropolish, machine vision, etc.) Experience with DMAIC problem solving. Six Sigma Green Belt Lean manufacturing experience Medical device manufacturing or equivalent regulated industry experience. Practical knowledge of statistical techniques and software (e.g., Minitab) Experience with OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and paperless manufacturing. PR) locations (USD):$168,800.00 - $253,200.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
