General Position Summary The Mechanic Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair activities of the AIS Infrastructure fleet of vehicles and equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of the company's construction and industrial services projects. The Mechanic Foreman must possess a strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols. Major Duties & Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanics and technicians in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment. Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles and equipment. Perform complex repairs and maintenance tasks on a variety of vehicles and equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks, and specialized construction equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage, work performed, and equipment status. Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Ability to lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians effectively. Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records. Education, Knowledge & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or degree in automotive or heavy equipment mechanics is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive or heavy equipment maintenance industry. In-depth knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance best practices and industry standards. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, equipment, and software used in vehicle and equipment maintenance. Working Environment & Conditions The Mechanic Foreman will primarily work in a well-equipped maintenance facility but may occasionally be required to work on job sites or in outdoor environments. Potential hazards include working with heavy machinery, chemicals, and exposure to loud noises. The job may involve physical demands such as lifting heavy parts, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. The work schedule may vary and may include weekends, evenings, or overtime as needed. Limited travel may be required to visit job sites or attend training programs. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in using computer software and diagnostic tools relevant to vehicle and equipment maintenance. Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues. Attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective repairs. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Strong customer service skills to interact with internal stakeholders and external clients.
