Nurse Educator Position
Fairfax Behavioral Health, founded in 1930, is a private, free-standing mental health hospital that specializes in psychiatric and detox treatment. The Nurse Educator is responsible for managing and directing the activities related to the education of Registered Nurses, LPNs and Mental Health Technicians in established standards of care, mental health practice and facility policy, goals, and objectives. This position contributes to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, educational and quality improvement efforts, while providing guidance. Eligible for $10,000 sign on bonus Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required, Bachelors degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of one year of charge nurse/leadership experience is preferred. Management and nursing education experience in a psychiatric health-care facility is also preferred. Licensure: RN must have license to practice by state board of nursing. Must have a valid drivers license. Additional Requirements: CPR (AED) and Handle with Care & Verbal De-Escalation Training is required within 30 days of employment. Knowledge of Joint Commission/CMS, OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements. Successful completion of Show of Support, including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint. Successful completion of skills lab. Must pass a medication administration exam.
