Income Maintenance Caseworker II

Brunswick County Department of Social Services is accepting applications for an Income Maintenance Caseworker II for one of the following programs: Adult Medicaid, Family and Children's Medicaid, and Food and Nutrition Services (FNS). An Income Maintenance Caseworker II determines eligibility, interviews clients, reviews documentation, and completes data entry into NC FAST. Intro to Human Services certificate and/or NC FAST experience are helpful. The ideal candidate can work independently and as a member of a team. Job responsibilities include: Completing timely and accurate applications, recertifications, and changes. Completing NCFAST Tasks daily. Entering data into NC FAST and county document management system. Attending training. Staying abreast of policy updates. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of NC FAST Ability to complete NC FAST Certifications Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Communication skills Organizational skills Critical thinking skills Must be available to work during emergency situations. Education and Experience

Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associated, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum; or Graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact, which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical program; or An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Direct experience with NC FAST is highly desirable as well as the Intro to Human Services and Income Maintenance Caseworker - NC FAST Certificates. Physical Requirements

Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
