Job Summary
The Director of Cloud Security and Infrastructure will be a strategic leader responsible for establishing and maintaining Mad Mobile's comprehensive cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity programs across both our Restaurant and Enterprise Retail divisions. Reporting to executive leadership, this role will focus on driving secure digital transformation, protecting our AI-first technology platform, customer data, and intellectual property while enabling scalable business growth. The Director will collaborate closely with stakeholders across engineering, product, operations, compliance, and executive teams to build robust security frameworks and cloud architectures that support our innovative solutions including the CAKE product and enterprise retail platforms. The ideal candidate is a visionary technology leader with deep expertise in both cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity governance, hands-on technical experience, and a passion for securing and scaling cutting-edge technology in high-growth environments.
Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Tampa, FL. This is an in-office role.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance Develop and execute comprehensive cloud and security strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements across restaurant and retail technology solutions Drive secure digital transformation initiatives and cloud-first adoption across all technology teams Partner with executive leadership to define technology roadmaps, investment priorities, and security posture Establish comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and governance frameworks Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure Management
Oversee design and implementation of secure multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures Establish DevSecOps best practices, secure CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code standards with embedded security controls Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual processes while maintaining security integrity Design and oversee implementation of security controls across cloud infrastructure, AI/ML platforms, APIs, and customer-facing applications Risk Management & Compliance
Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments, vulnerability management programs, and security audits to identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks to Mad Mobile's AI-driven platforms Ensure compliance with industry standards including PCI DSS, SOC 2, GDPR, and other relevant regulations applicable to restaurant and retail technology solutions Manage and coordinate SOC 2 Type II and PCI DSS compliance audits, working closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders Establish and maintain incident response capabilities, including 24/7 monitoring, threat detection, and coordinated response to security events Implement security and compliance frameworks across all cloud environments Team Leadership & Development
Build and lead high-performing cloud engineering, DevOps, and security teams, including security engineers, analysts, and compliance specialists Foster a culture of security-first operational excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation Develop talent pipelines and succession planning for critical technical roles in both cloud and security domains Collaborate with HR on recruitment strategies for specialized cloud security talent Financial & Vendor Management
Manage combined budgets for cloud infrastructure and security tools, implementing FinOps practices with security cost considerations Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with key cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and security vendors Develop and oversee vendor security assessment programs, ensuring third-party integrations meet Mad Mobile's security standards Evaluate and select technology vendors and security tools that align with our technology-forward culture Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operations
Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle and enable rapid, secure deployments Work closely with engineering teams to embed security considerations in AI model development and deployment Oversee the security technology stack, including SIEM, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, and cloud-native security tools Communicate technical strategies, security posture, and progress to board and executive stakeholders Security Awareness & Knowledge Transfer
Partner with HR and leadership teams to implement comprehensive security awareness programs, ensuring all employees understand their role in protecting company and customer data Lead security aspects of knowledge transfer initiatives from operational transitions, ensuring security protocols and practices are maintained Establish centers of excellence for cloud security best practices across the organization Qualifications
Experience
12+ years in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or information security, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing large technical teams Proven track record of leading digital transformation, cloud migration initiatives, and cybersecurity programs Experience scaling secure infrastructure for high-growth technology companies, preferably in SaaS, fintech, or companies serving restaurant/retail industries Background in securing AI/ML platforms and distributed systems is highly desirable Technical Expertise
Deep expertise in major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with strong focus on cloud security Extensive knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), compliance standards (PCI DSS, SOC 2), and cloud security architectures Proven experience managing SOC 2 Type II and PCI DSS audit processes, including remediation and continuous compliance monitoring Strong background in containerization, orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) Experience with CI/CD tools, monitoring solutions, SIEM platforms, and emerging AI-driven security tools Understanding of restaurant and retail technology ecosystems, including POS systems, payment processing, and customer data handling Leadership & Business Skills
Exceptional leadership and team building capabilities across technical domains Strong business acumen with ability to align technical strategy with business goals and risk management Excellent communication skills for translating technical security and infrastructure concepts to business stakeholders and executive leadership Experience presenting to boards and C-level executives on both infrastructure and security matters Experience managing multi-million dollar technology and security budgets Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
