We are seeking a skilled Machine Shop Finishing Technician for 1st Shift 6am to 2pm. In this role, you'll be responsible for the final finishing and surface treatment of precision-machined parts, ensuring they meet exacting quality standards and customer specifications. From grinding and deburring to polishing and surface prep, your attention to detail will ensure every part is production-ready and flawless.

Key Responsibilities: •Finishing Processes: Perform grinding, sanding, deburring, polishing, and buffing operations to refine part surfaces and remove imperfections. •Surface Preparation: Clean and prepare components for coating, painting, or plating by removing contaminants and ensuring optimal surface condition. •Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine appropriate finishing methods and tolerances. •Inspection & Quality Control: Measure and verify part dimensions and finishes using calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Ensure all finished parts meet customer and internal specifications. •Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Set up, operate, and maintain finishing tools and machines (grinders, polishers, sanders, etc.). Perform basic troubleshooting and ensure proper calibration. •Documentation: Record inspection results, work orders, and any nonconformities or corrective actions taken during finishing. •Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and wear required PPE. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. •Team Collaboration: Coordinate with machinists, quality inspectors, and production supervisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of parts. •Process Improvement: Identify and suggest improvements in finishing processes to reduce waste, improve quality, and boost efficiency.

Required Qualifications: •High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade certification preferred. •1+ years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment, specifically with part finishing or post-machining processes. •Proficient with finishing tools and techniques (grinding, sanding, deburring, polishing). •Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions. •Experience using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges). •Strong attention to detail and quality standards. •Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. •Team player with solid communication skills. •Comfortable using computers for documentation and record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications: •Certification or formal training in finishing or machining processes. •Experience with advanced techniques like abrasive blasting, shot peening, or industrial coatings. •Familiarity with safety standards in finishing and machine shop operations. •Experience working with various materials including metals, plastics, and composites. •Exposure to lean manufacturing or process improvement practices.

Working Conditions: •1st Shift 6am to 2pm •Industrial/machine shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery. •Requires standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and repetitive tasks. •Use of PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, dust mask) required. •May involve shift work, overtime, or weekends based on production needs.
