Job Summary: The Finishing and Final Inspection Operator is responsible for ensuring the quality and precision of forged components produced. This position involves the post-forging processes, including finishing, inspection, and final quality control to meet industry standards and customer specifications. Duties/Responsibilities: Perform post-forging finishing operations such as grinding, deburring, and polishing to achieve the required surface finish on forged components. Use various hand tools and machinery to remove imperfections and excess material from forged parts. Ensure that finishing processes meet specified tolerances and visual appearance standards. Conduct detailed inspections of forged components to verify conformance to customer requirements and industry standards. Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to check dimensions and tolerances. Inspect surfaces for defects, ensuring that the final product meets quality standards. Required Skills/Abilities: Proficient in the use of measuring instruments and quality control tools. Strong attention to detail and precision in work. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Good communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of forging processes and materials is desirable. Understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machining or manufacturing is a plus. Proven experience in finishing and final inspection within a forging or manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
