Salary: $42.08/HR Location: 1600 McKinley Ave, Columbus, OH 43222 Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, Supplemental and Life Insurance Paid Parental Leave Employee Discounts COTA Bus Pass Wellness Initiatives On-Site Chair Massage On-Site Health Coach Tuition Reimbursement Student Loan Repayment Program Public Pension through OPERS & Ohio Deferred Compensation Essential Job Functions: Inspecting, troubleshooting, removing, repairing, and/or replacing all types of components/units as required Inspecting, troubleshooting electrical units, removing/replacing faulty components on the Authority's vehicles; performing electrical work including diagnosing, removing, and replacing electrical/electronic components and performing wiring repairs Troubleshooting, with or without test equipment, various troubles encountered with engines and other units affecting vehicle operation Removing and installing major units on coaches including transmissions, engines, differentials, and axle tubes Overhauling or repairing units of Authority equipment requiring general shop work Replacing worn parts, bearings, bushings, and other related equipment Removing broken screws, bolts, and studs by normal extraction methods, using caution to correctly torque by fastener size, also using compounds to guard against heat, rust, and seizure Diagnosing and repairing electrical, electronic, and air conditioning troubles in all types of electrical and electronic equipment associated with the Authority's vehicles Overhauling major units of electrical, electronic, and air conditioning equipment in Authority vehicles and facilities Re-wiring electrical and electronic systems of all types on Authority vehicles and facilities, testing circuits, and making final connections or adjustments Removing and installing parts, body panels, and/or assemblies as required to gain access to faulty components to perform duties of this line of progression Minimum Education & Experience Required: Must have a minimum of five or more years' experience in transit or similar line of work Must obtain CNG-FSI certification and EPA 609 Must pass National Occupational Competency Testing Institute test with a minimum passing score of 80% Must possess or obtain NFPA 70E Arc Flash within six months of taking the position Must complete Cummins Engine Overhaul class within one year of taking the position Must pass practical exams for brakes, tune-up, radiator replacement, transmission / rear seal, and front seal / rear cover placement within one year of taking position Must have or obtain six (6) OEM training modules from Engine, Transmission, Fuel System, Brakes, HVAC, AMEREX, and/or Programmable Logic Controller. Completion of the six modules must be obtained within one year of taking the position Must possess the proper tools that are required to perform the duties of this position Must Elect to become a T1 Qualified upon completion of required testing COTA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
