Lakeview Village is a continuing care retirement community. We have an opening for a Substitute Laundry Worker to work PRN (as needed).

Lakeview's Substitute Laundry Worker provides laundry services to residents and other departments in the most efficient and timely manner possible in accordance with established procedure and policies, ensuring that the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Receives and follows cleaning schedule/instructions from supervisor Collects soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc. that have been placed in appropriate containers in assigned soiled utility areas or carts, following regulations and using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Follows and maintains established procedures on cross contamination, infectious material, etc. to assure that the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times, following regulations and using proper PPE. Lists and counts non-personal flat linen, sheets, pillowcases, towels, etc. (and mark) as needed. Responsible for marking all resident personal clothing in Care Center within 48 hours of admission. Sorts and separates items that require special stain removal/treatment. Wash and dry laundry per instruction. Separates, folds, stacks (hang/bag where required) and deliver to respective areas. Responsible for ensuring that all laundry is returned to the appropriate resident. Cleans work area at end of shift. Reports equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to supervisor as soon as possible.

Qualifications

GED or High School diploma preferred. Valid driver's license required. Must be able to read written documents, including but not limited to Hazardous Material labels, job checklists, and Material Safety Data Sheets. Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly. Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
