Security Officer
Serve as team leader for assigned security officers to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Participate in the process of monitoring, guiding and evaluating staff performance. Contribute to efficient operations by assisting with coordinating activities, prioritizing workflow and promoting decision-making and problem solving. Perform the duties of a security officer. Model and promote teamwork and cooperation amongst staff. Review staff reports for accuracy, clarity and completeness. Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards. Address escalated or unresolved issues. Assist the Security Manager with shift staffing, organizational planning, budget preparation, staff development, and Committee Chair responsibilities. Operate vehicle in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations. Provide for traffic and parking enforcement within campus area and participates in foot and vehicle patrols. Licensure / Certification / Registration: Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit preferred. Education: High School diploma equivalency and 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree and 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
